<aside> 💡 Dealing with life’s stuff means each day won’t be the same. Each hour won’t the same. Sometimes you wake up sick. Sometimes energy levels are low. Sometimes energy levels are high! And sometimes the people in your life need you. In most of these cases, you may not be able to meet the expectations of a “maximum productivity” day. This worksheet is meant to help you understand 3 different versions of a day. When you wake up in the morning, ask yourself: What kind of day am I having today? Then set expectations accordingly. (Hint: This is a life’s work, but just asking the question can be life-changing.)

🛑 It’s a Red Light Day

On a red light day, you don’t have the capacity needed to reach maximum productivity. On a red light day, you probably have to cancel most, if not all, of your plans. It’s a zero or very low expectation day.

First, list the signs that you’re having a red light day. Consider feelings, body signals and external factors.

Next, describe what you’d expect from yourself on a red light day.

What kind of support do you need on a red light day?

Finally, share how you’ll communicate this red light day to your family, friends and clients. Literally write out the emails or text messages you’ll send.

How I’ll share with clients
How I’ll share with family & friends
How I’ll ask for support

🟢 It’s a Green Light Day

On a green light day, you feel great. You have full energy, full capacity, and there are no external factors (sick kids, etc) blocking you from getting your work done. It’s a high expectation day.

First, list the signs that you’re having a green light day. Consider feelings, body signals and external factors.

Next, describe what you’d expect from yourself on a green light day.
